Services

Comprehensive Initial Exam

The comprehensive exam is a process during which we welcome you to our office and orient you to our services before your treatment plan is developed. Our New Patient Coordinator will answer any questions or concerns you may have. During this orientation, we will review your medical and dental history, give you a tour of the office and take X-rays if indicated. There are three types of x-rays that may be taken: periapical, bitewings and a panoramic (full mouth).

The New Patient Coordinator also assists Dr. Hartman in the oral cancer screening, periodontal exam and the occlusal exam. During the visual and x-ray examination Dr. Hartman can locate areas of decay on the chewing surfaces of your teeth and between the teeth. We use the latest equipment and will evaluate the condition of your teeth using an intra-oral camera. The minute camera will transfer the image of your teeth onto a monitor that you will be able to see.

Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction Examination

Frequent indicators of TMJ is a popping and/or clicking of the jaw, limited jaw function, and pain and pressure in the face or ears. We provide therapies that can eliminate this painful problem (NTI Splint). More TMJ Info

Snore Prevention — Dr. Hartman can treat snoring! It is estimated that more than 80 million people in North America snore while sleeping. Dr. Hartman can prescribe the most affordable, non-evasive, comfortable and effective snoring solution. The Silent Nite snoring device is worn at night and it moves the lower jaw into a forward position that increases the three-dimensional space in the airway tube, which reduces air velocity and soft tissue vibration. Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening systems offer patients with stained, discolored or dull teeth an opportunity to have a whiter and brighter smile. Dr. Hartman provides the patient with an at-home whitening system, which is affordable. The patient’s progress is monitored with in-office appointment throughout the process. An assistant will take impressions of your mouth and specifically select a whitening program for you. More Info

Preparing for Your First Appointment

We ask that new patients bring the following
with them to their first appointment:

1. Any current x-rays that you have or copies that you may get from your previous dentist can be forwarded to our office by mail. If there is not enough time for us to receive them by your scheduled appointment, bring them along with you. If additional x-rays are necessary to assess the condition of your teeth we will take them at your appointment.

2. A list of current medications or supplements that you are taking

3. Medical History — Please advise us if you have a history of allergies, heart murmur, artificial heart valves, congenital heart defect or have taken an antibiotic pre-medication prior to your dental visit. Also, inform us if you have a latex allergy.

PLEASE NOTE: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the initial visit.

Insurance Considerations

If you currently have dental insurance we will be happy to provide you with a pre-determination slip to give to your insurance carrier. This will enable you to determine how much your carrier will cover. Benefits that you receive from your dental insurance company are unrelated to your dental needs or what is important to your dental health. We encourage you to read your insurance policy so that you are fully aware of the coverage and any limitation of the benefits provided.

We are not a participating provider with any insurance companies, however, we have many patients who pay for services and then submit claim forms to their carrier for reimbursement directly to them. Remeber that your insurance carrier may not pay for the entire bill when they reimburse you. Again, we encourage you to check with your carrier first to determine coverage.

Our financial expectations are that you pay on the day of service. We honor that by giving you a 5% cash courtesy when you pay by cash or personal check. We also accept Master Card, Visa and Discover. Should you decide on an extensive treatment plan and would like to discuss financing options, we offer several third-party financing solutions.

Dr. Hartman and his staff are committed to providing excellent dental care and guidance in choosing the best payment option(s) for your individual need.
